Tavë me Qepë

This Albanian Beef and Onion Stew has two names, Tavë me Qepë and Çumlek (normally without any other vegetables) and can be slow cooked. The beef falls apart and the vegetables are soft and tender. I love making this in the slow cooker, with the smell filling the house for the day. There are lots of other Albanian casseroles and stews to try too, such as Lamb and Yogurt (Tavë me Kosi), Beef and Leek (Tavë me Presh), Rabbit and Onion (Çumlek Lepuri) and also plenty of vegetable casseroles (Gjelle Me Zarzavata being a popular one).
