Specialties include muamba de galinha, a dish of chicken with palm oil and okra, foutou or pounded plantains served with sauces, soups or stews to make a simple meal. Some other favorite dishes include ground peanut stew which contains chicken, ginger, okra and other spices; and bambara, a rice porridge with peanut butter and sugar. Beef and chicken are favorite meats.
