Cameroon

The Cameroonian diet is characterized by starchy foods, such as corn, millet and root vegetables, which are often pounded into a sticky mass and formed into balls. These are eaten with spicy (often very hot) sauces. The sauces are made of ingredients such as cassava leaves, okra, and tomatoes. Meat on skewers, fried and roasted fish, curries and peppery soups are common dishes. Bobolo, made of fermented cassava shaped in a loaf, is also popular. Fresh fruit is plentiful such as mangoes, oranges, papayas, bananas, pineapples, coconuts, grapefruit, and limes.
