Malaysian fried bananas, called pisang goreng, is a scrumptious treat. I used ripe baby bananas, they were dipped in a simple batter and then fried in the deep fryer until golden brown. They were served on a banana leaf with some sweet soy sauce. That may sound a bit odd, but oh my, super good! It would be delicious with ice cream, chocolate syrup, honey, caramel, whipped cream……. you get the idea. However if you want to enjoy a simple Malaysian treat that is a popular street food, try it with some sweet soy sauce or nothing at all. You will love it! I know it’s fried, but it is a banana!
