Shrak is a traditional and ancient Arabic bread that has been prepared at home for centuries. Shrak, also known as markook is a type of flatbread common in the countries of the Levant and the Arabian peninsula. Shrak bread is usually large, about 2 feet (60cm) in diameter, and thin, almost translucent. Similar to the procedures for making other flatbreads, the dough is flattened and kept very thin.
