Salatat Jarjeer
ReviewIngredients
Salatat jarjeer is a delicious salad of arugula leaves, also known as rocket. It is typical of Middle Eastern and Mediterranean cuisine. Salatat jarjeer is peppery because arugula has a naturally pungent taste, tangy due to the lemon juice, richly perfumed thanks to the sumac, and full of protein from the walnut kernels. Finely-sliced onion is also added, which adds a slight crunchiness. Salatat jarjeer can be eaten alone or as an accompaniment to other dishes such as lamb skewers for example. It also goes very well with seafood simply sauteed with olive oil and garlic, or dips such as hummus.
