Persian Cuisine comprises the cooking traditions of the country of Iran. Persians are only one of the several ethnic groups that are native to Iran but have contributed significantly to the culinary culture. Persian culinary culture has historically interacted with the cuisines of the neighboring regions, including cuisines of Turkey, Levantine, Greece, Central Asian, and Russian. Typical main dishes are combinations of rice with meat, vegetables, and nuts. Kabobs are a favorite main dish too. Herbs are frequently used, along with fruits such as plums, pomegranates, quince, prunes, apricots, and raisins. Characteristic flavorings such as saffron, dried lime and other sources of sour flavoring, cinnamon, turmeric, and parsley are mixed and used in various dishes.Grab your copy of Persian Cuisine: A Cookbook of Exotic Delights now!
